Deputy National Chief Imam Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen dies at the age of 103

The Deputy National Chief Imam Sheikh Ahmad Kamaludeen has passed away at the age of 103 years, YEN.com.gh has learnt. Information gathered by YEN.com.gh indicate that Sheikh Kamaludeen passed away on the dawn of Saturday, September 28, 2019. As appropriate with Islamic customs, Sheik Kamaludeen has been laid to rest at the Awudome Cemetery in Accra.His death will come as a big blow to the Muslim community as he was one of the most revered leaders. By his position, he was the second most important person in the Muslim community after National Chief Imam Sheikh Osman Nuhhu Sharabutu. The Janazah also saw leading members and executives of the two major political parties – New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), were in attendance. It was only appropriate that Sharbutut officiated the funeral ceremony (Janazah) which was attended by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
